Facetur, the consultancy company that prepared the selection of the drivers who travelled to Portugal, was pleased with the departure and training of the first group of 51 professionals who left São Vicente to join the staff of the "Alsa Todi" company, a road transport operator in the Lisbon metropolitan region. These drivers will reinforce the public road transport service in the municipalities of Setúbal, Palmela, Montijo, Moita and Alcochete
In a statement, the company said that the group of professionals, endowed with the technical requirements and human qualities to provide a quality service in accordance with the high standards demanded by the contracting company, travelled on three flights on 26, 27 and 28 October.
"Despite a somewhat understandable delay in the process of obtaining a visa to enter Portugal, this very successful operation is the first to be carried out under the CPLP programme in Cape Verde and the PALOPs, which aims to facilitate mobility between Portuguese-speaking countries so that the flow of migrant labour is regulated, guaranteeing these professionals all the rights enshrined in Portuguese law," he explains.
For Facetur, there can be no doubt that the professionalism and competence shown by this group, aged between 25 and 35, is in itself a responsibility, and they will certainly be able to raise Cape Verde's flag high. "A second group, smaller in number, is due to travel soon to join them," he announced, emphasising that everyone has contributed in some way to the success of this mission, which is in line with the slogan "Creating value is in our DNA".
The company says that, more than the implicit economic aspect of this operation, it is proud to be able to contribute to finding channels across borders for young Cape Verdeans looking for better opportunities. It would like to take this opportunity to thank "Alsa Todi" for its trust and wishes success to the new professionals now working for this Portuguese company.
